St. Mark's Church at the Beach - 2009

On August 30, 2009, held its 11th annual Church at the Beach at Twin Lakes beach, Santa Cruz, California.

With 90+ in attendance, worshipping God in the middle of His creation was a wonderful experience for all.

The message and group activity was based on Colossians 2:2-3, "My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."

The group activity including digging for God's treasures in the sand, with the final treasure being the cross as a reminder of Christ's ultimate sacrifice on the cross for our sins and His resurrection to defeat death and the devil for our sake.

After the service, everyone had a chance to share time with each other...

...swim in the ocean or play on the beach...

...or go for a walk along the beach.

St. Mark gives thanks for the opportunity to worship in God's glorious creation, fellowship with each other and have the opportunity to relax.
