"Celebrating 65 Years of Service to the Lord"

May 4, 2008

On May 4th, St. Mark celebrated the 65th anniversary of Pastor Herb Bartz's ordination into the ministry!

Pastor Bartz served as St. Mark's pastor from 1962 to 1986, at which time he retired and has continued to serve God in many ways.

During the Sunday worship, St. Mark thanked and praised God for Pastor Bartz's many years of service.

As part of the children's message, Pastor Bartz recalled several of his experiences for the children.

Following a presentation of a plaque for his years of service, the children surrounded Pastor for a prayer of thanks and praise for his faithful years of service to God.

Following the worship service more than 120 people continued the celebration at a luncheon on his behalf.

Throughout the meal and fellowship , Pastor received congratulations from many who were grateful for all he had done.

During the program, letters of appreciation and thanks from the Synod and District presidents were read, along with a presentation of a gift from the congregation.

The program closed with the singing of "Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow" and prayer.

Through Pastor Bartz's many years of dedicated service to our Lord's ministry, St. Mark was truly blessed by one of God's "good and faithful servants."

Most assuredly, we praise God "from whom all blessings flow!"
