St. Mark's Rally Day and Annual Picnic
September 9, 2001
St. Mark celebrated its annual Rally Day celebration and Annual Picnic on September 9th.
Rally Day is the special occasion when the children "graduate" to the next grade level in Sunday School and Bible Class.
As part of the worship service the children showed their love for their Savior through song and helping with the liturgy. In addition, Pastor Rod had special help from the Backdoor Puppets, with Brian and Pastor discussing what Rally Day is all about.
Following the Rally Day worship, everyone was invited to DeAnza Park for a BBQ lunch, fellowship and lots of activities.
Showing the agility of a fine-tuned athlete, our head chef Trent, tended to the hamburgers and hot dogs.
In addition, everyone was treated to delicious salads and desserts
Although the food is super and the sports are great, a large part of St. Mark is its love for its Savior and its warm love for each other.
This is evident by the loving fellowship that everyone enjoyed at the picnic!
On a beautiful September afternoon, it was a great time to enjoy a quiet conversation.
Of course, a picnic isn't a picnic, without having a little fun with the photographer...
...and giving one's friends a bit of a bad time! The picnic was well attended by all ages, with everyone getting into the fun.
With the eating done, many people took the time to enjoy the sporting life, including: volleyball, baseball and one HUGE waterfight at the end of the day!
Joseph shows great form as he kicks the bean bag!
Watch out Clemens, Ken showed great form as he pitched to the youngsters. Of course after several hours of batting and fielding, it would be good to see how everyone was feeling Monday morning!
With most of the youngsters participating in batting practice, it was super to see where tomorrow's stars are coming from! Great form to Paul!
However, there were also some strange moves shown on the football field. Based on Trent's look, it's probably best that Mark couldn't see what was on the way!
St. Mark offers many activities for all age groups, including Sunday worship, Bible class and Sunday School. If you would like more information, call St. Mark at (408) 736-6605 or read more information on our web site by clicking here!
