50th Anniversary Worship and Pilgrim Dinner Highlights

On Nov. 14 we celebrated and gave thanks to the Lord for 50 Years of Faith & Family at St. Mark, only people's sartorial splendor belied the fact that it was not 1949! The familiar Liturgy from page 15 of the old Lutheran Hymnal, scripture readings from the King James version, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon a child in Baptism made for an inspirational worship celebration of God’s goodness! Special thanks to Pastor Bartz for his wonderful message centered on the 50th Anniversary Theme our Faith, the Future…a Family.

That evening 160 friends and family gathered for the Pilgrim Dinner, 50 Years of Giving Thanks. How the Lord has blessed St. Mark with great cooks and delicious meals! Food and fellowship have been important ingredients in the nurturing of the St. Mark family for 50 years.

We prayed, ate, gave thanks to God in song, ate, laughed, saw old friends, ate, and reminisced as we poured over old pictures and St. Mark memorabilia. Special thanks to Valora and Bart for their hours of planning and preparation.

Our Future is filled with hope and eagerness to serve the Lord, proclaim the Gospel, and follow where he leads. Will you say, "Here I am Lord—use me!" and be part of the future of St. Mark as we do ministry together?

Other Highlights from the Dinner!

Part of the fun at St. Mark events is the wonderful fellowship that we share with each other.

Pastor Bartz, a former pastor for many years, provided all with many wonderful memories from St. Mark's history.
