He is Risen! He is Risen, Indeed!

"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:55-57
Holy Week at St. Mark began with a wonderful Palm Sunday celebration of Christ's entry into Jerusalem.
On Maundy Thursday evening, St. Mark shared a Seder meal as we learned the meaning of Seder.
A Good Friday Tenebrae service was held in remembrance of Christ's death on the cross for our sins.
As is customary at St. Mark on Easter morning, the youth provided everyone with a wonderful breakfast, including: various egg dishes, french toast, fruit, coffee cake, cereal and juices.
Although the weather was bleak outside with rain and cold, the warmth of breakfast and fellowship overcame any poor weather.
Once again the food was outstanding as the youth, along with others, put on quite a feast...
...including help from the "unknown cook" who was as modest as ever!
The only downside of the poor weather was the Easter egg hunt had to be moved indoors.
With creative flair, eggs and candy were hidden on tables, chairs, window sills and other unique locations. In the end, the children didn't even notice the move indoors as they hurried about collecting their treasures.
As with all occasions at St. Mark, the fellowship with each other is a strength that we give thanks to God for. As the body of Christ, we work and play together in His Name.
With breakfast and the Easter egg hunt completed, the Easter service to celebrate Christ's resurrection from His death on the cross began.
"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”
As we listened to the Gospel reading about the Easter morning, it is hard to imagine what the women thought when they arrived to find an empty tomb as Christ had risen from death.
Pastor Rod, through his children's message spoke to the children about the excitement of Easter.
Following the Easter message, we celebrated the Lord's Supper and concluded the service with singing.
He is Risen!
He is Risen Indeed!
