Sunnyvale Community Services

June 23, 2009

Assisting Sunnyvale Community Services for the 6th time, St. Mark's volunteers worked the early evening by packing 900+ bags of groceries for distribution the following day.

SCS is for people with unexpected needs based on job loss, rent increases or other issues that cause hardship on their family.

In addition to handing out groceries to people with unexpected hardships, SCS also supports seniors, children other special needs during the summer and at Christmas.

Henry Ford may have invented the assembly line, but St. Mark has perfected it as they continually get the SCS staff home early! This time was especially rewarding as nearly a third of the group were there for the first time! Great job everyone!!

Working as a fine tuned machine, this group of youngsters to the "not so youngsters" completed the task of bagging, breaking down the boxes and eating some dinner in two hours!

By the smiles on their faces, it is obvious this group of volunteers look forward to serving God by serving the Sunnyvale community through their continued support of SCS.
