St. Mark Outreach with
Sunnyvale Community Services

October 30 , 2007

Assisting Sunnyvale Community Services for the 4th time, St. Mark's volunteers spent part of an evening packing 1000 bag of groceries for the following days distribution.

SCS for people with unexpected needs based on job loss, rent increases or other issues that cause hardship on their family.

SCS not only provides groceries to needy families but also runs programs for seniors and special summer programs for children who no longer have school meals due to the summer break.

Using an assembly line process Ford Motor would be envious of, the volunteers of all ages, hustled their way through the 1000 bags of groceries

In less than two hours, the speedy volunteers were able to pack the 1000 bags, setting a new record for the group.
As the countdown to the 1000th bag began, it was evident that only super teamwork and a love for what they were doing could accomplish the task at hand in such a short period of time. Great job everyone!!

St. Mark encourages all to seek opportunities to serve God in their community and to provide their time and talents to those less fortunate.
