Christmas at St. Mark - 2002

Although the Christmas times can be very hectic for all,
St. Mark takes the time to remember the true Christmas story, the birth of our Savior, Jesus.

At St. Mark, the month of December is highlighted by Wednesday Advent dinners and worship, a fantastic Living Nativity program, the Children's Christmas Service, a candlelight Christmas Eve and Christmas Day worship.

For many years, St. Mark has presented the community with an outdoor living nativity, which included young and old dressed as the main characters from the nativity.

In 2001, St. Mark changed the format by also providing a one hour presentation using puppets, their praise band and a drama that used a secular setting to tell the wonderful news of Christ's birth.

A major highlight for all at St. Mark is the Children's Christmas Service. This years's theme was "The Heart of Christmas."

The decoration of St. Mark's church takes place during the second Advent service, entitled the "Hanging of the Greens."

The Christmas Eve service celebrates Christ's birth, with this year's message being, "A Gift for All Time."

The service concluded with the singing of Silent Night, while everyone circled the darkened church and held their lit candles.
