St. Mark's
Annual Camping Trip at
Half Moon Bay

September 22-24, 2006

On a weekend when the weather was spectacular, St. Mark enjoyed their annual camping trip.

Both Saturday and Sunday morning had fantastic sunrises, although most campers missed them! Seems the warm sleeping bags were a better place to be!

However, to the surprise of all, Paul met the Saturday sunrise head-on as he prepared breakfast.

On the other hand, there were some who could not resist the temptation of the local Starbuck's and its fresh brewed coffee!

With a gorgeous Saturday beckoning, everyone slowly emerged from their tents to enjoy a day of playing, fellowship, time at the beach and simply relaxing from the fast pace of the Valley.

Music was a major relaxation as many brought their guitars to practice, sing songs and enjoy the opportunity to praise God!

Although Scrabble has always been a camping favorite, new games emerged this year as shown by this competition of Quiddlers.

Young and not-so-young spent many hours of running around, followed by rest, followed by more running, then walking and finally, a great dinner on Saturday night.

Of course, the beach was a major attraction for the kids as they ran along the water, made sand castles and covered themselves with sand.

Playful Highlights

As the sun began to set, many turned to a quiet time of reflection as they considered all that God has provided us.

Throughout the weekend, all one had to do was turn to another beautiful miracle that God created, whether it was the ocean, the flowers, the birds or other creatures that He made for our enjoyment!

Nature Highlights

Craig led us in a wonderful Sunday morning worship where his message was "Walk by Faith" based on Psalm 143:1.

Camping Highlights

With the worship over, everyone took part in taking down the tents, packing the cars and cleaning the camp ground. As always, it was tough to pack everything away, knowing the fast paced life of Silicon Valley was less than an hour away.

With the cars and trucks packed, it was time to say good-bye to everyone, including new friends.

May God, who provided all of us with a peaceful, relaxing weekend, bless all who seek Him.
